Character Background:Amelia-Leighandra Reed is commonly referred to as Ami-Leigh or simply Ami among her closest associates. In every sense of the term, Ami-Leigh's upbringing epitomized that of a "Merchant Princess." As the youngest child and sole daughter of Alexander and Amanda Reed, proprietors of the Reed Mercantile Company, Ami experienced a life of comfort during her early years.Her affinity for water and exploration took root at a tender age when she accompanied her family on a journey to Kugane at the age of four. Regrettably, a few years later, travel came to a standstill due to escalating piracy and the presence of Garlean forces in Kugane. Despite this, even within the confines of Limsa Lominsa, Ami-Leigh found solace in life near the sea.Ami-Leigh received an education in refined skills, tailored to mold her into a socialite among Eorzea's elite. Her father orchestrated this education with the specific intention of shaping the future of the family company. However, Ami had different aspirations. While her parents envisioned her as a polished lady adept in conversation and hosting, Ami harbored a strong desire to be out at sea, much like her brother Michael, who was set to inherit the organization.Shortly before the calamity, a significant change unfolded within the Reed household as Michael embarked on his own journey, distancing himself from both home and the family business. With no male heir in sight, Ami's father swiftly altered his ambitions for her, transforming her role from a social butterfly for the family to a prospective bride, ensuring the company's future. Within a year of her brother's departure, Ami-Leigh found herself reluctantly engaged to a man named Cornelius Saxton, against her own heartfelt wishes.Just a week prior to her wedding, Ami-Leigh orchestrated a clandestine escape, slipping away under the cloak of night and boarding a ship destined for Thavnair. Her covert journey was short-lived, however, as the crew unearthed her presence before departing La Noscea waters, promptly handing her over to the authorities. During her confinement, she crossed paths with a young Au’Ra named Saran Mihata. Narrating the tale of her audacious departure from her family, Ami-Leigh was then introduced by Saran to a group of associates known as The Dutiful Sisters of the Edelweiss.As Ami-Leigh became acquainted with The Dutiful Sisters, she discovered not only allies but also mentors who guided her in honing the mysterious skills she had inadvertently uncovered during her escape. The sisters provided her with a newfound sense of purpose and direction, transforming her unexpected detour into a new and exciting journey.Now, she commands the shadows, seamlessly wearing the guise of a jovial socialite with a gentle demeanor in one moment and, in the next, wielding the lethal edge of death's blade.

Some hold resentment toward her for her 'betrayal'. However, several members knowing the reasons behind her departure, keep their distance but provide intel whenever possible.
